Louis Charles Niederlander, Jr.
Warren, Pennsylvania
Chuck hails from Warren, Pennsylvania, and has indeed been an asset to '54 and the Brigade. He is an ardent worker and has seldom abandoned a problem without a sincere attempt to find a solution. He has inspired the battalion football team to one championship and was one of the mainstays of the company football and Softball teams. A very well liked person, he has never failed to lend a helping hand to others. His familiar saying, "Yes Sir," has become known among us, and his wit and sense of humor have kept us in good spirits. The service will gain an officer with an outstanding sense of duty and an equal sense of humor, and we all can say, he will be successful in the field of his choosing.

Loss
Louis was lost when his F9F6 Cougar jet crashed into the Chesapeake Bay near Berlin, MD.

Known as “Charles” or “Chuck,” he graduated from Warren Area High School in 1949 as treasurer of the senior class. Athletic Association 2, 3, 4; Baseball 2, 3; Dramatic Club 4; Football 2, 3, 4; Der Gemϋtliche Verein 4; German Club 3, 4; Basketball 3; Junior Play 3; Latin Club 2, Photograph Club 3; Student Council 4. A football star … reserved . . . an all-around fellow . . . a good student.
He was survived by his parents and is buried in Pennsylvania.
